The PARIS ASIO driver!
The PARIS ASIO driver allows the use your classic PARIS hardware with 32 and 64 bit ASIO hosts (64 bit hosts require 64 bit Windows). The driver supports both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows from Windows XP through Windows 10*, excluding VISTA 64.
The driver allows/supports:
- MEC built in inputs and outputs
- 442 built in inputs and outputs
- MEC expansion inputs and outputs
- Setting -10/+4
- Multiple EDS cards
- Word Clock
- Buffer sizes as low as 32 samples**
- 16 and 32 bit depths for transfers from the ASIO host to the EDS cards
- C16 controller support as Reaper OSC, partial HUI or partial Mackie Control
This release also reduces hardware initialization time and project/effect load times under PARIS.exe.
*Due to driver signing changes introduced in Windows 10, secure boot must be disabled for the PARIS driver to load. With secure boot enabled, Windows 10 requires that drivers be signed with an EV security certificate, which is cost prohibitive. Windows 7 x64 must be patched (via Windows Update) in order to support the 256 bit security certificate used to sign the driver. This occurs automatically in the normal course of updating the OS. To my knowledge, Windows VISTA 64 was not patched to support 256 bit security certificates, so it is not compatible.
**Note that not all 24 streams may be available at 32 samples buffers sizes at 32 bits per sample. On my system, the maximum number of inputs and outputs at this setting is 18. All other combinations allow for 24 streams.
